Insecure Writers Support Group April Question

To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group Day. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time.

April 5 question - Do you remember writing your first book? What were your thoughts about a career path on writing? Where are you now and how is it working out for you? If you're at the start of the journey, what are your goals?

I do remember writing my first book, it went under the title of Sorcery, and is now called Sorceress. I enjoyed writing it, even though at first I was afraid to change very much about it, when I did come to terms with it, the Novel became something that I am now very proud to have published.

I always felt that I would love to be a writer, to write many books that people enjoyed reading. I would dream of people becoming lost in my worlds as I did with books that I loved. That they would feel that they were actually living in that world, smell the smells, see the sights, feel what I was sending to them.

Now I am unemployed and on Invalidity (lower back and hip issues), I have all the time in the world to write between injuries. I have several outlines and almost finished follow up novels (series) written and almost ready to go.

While I am not at the start of my journey, my goals now as they were then are to simply get the stories down and get them out into the world where they can reach those that will enjoy them.

Writing is a passion, a joy. It hurts when I can't do it, and I can't do it when I hurt, which is why for the past couple of weeks the editing of book two and three have been pushed to one side. I am grieving the life of a beloved four legged fur baby who used to be one of my writing companions. As I write this his sister lies on my knee, she has been quieter since he passed, a little off as we all have.

I know that one day it won't hurt as much, it won't ever go away, but it will allow me to do what I love to do and to regain my life. He will forever be in that life. One day he will even be in print in book 7, as a demon dog companion rescued by a half demon.
