Insecure Writers Support Group May Post!

To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group Day. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time.

This month's question is: May 3 question - When you are working on a story, what inspires you?

What inspires me when working on a story, wow, that can be tricky.

First off, the story itself, usually I'm excited by the premise, the plot and the characters. I love to outline it, then flesh all that out, and see what  needs adding and subtracting. I love to work towards the goal of having the betas, Alphas and Arcs read it, and then polish it up to publish.

I'm also inspired by the thought that someone might actually want to read it. That there is someone who is wondering what is going on in my universe, and what happens next.

I'm also inspired to write by the fact that I waited so long to have the chance to get the books out there. I'm not trad published, I do it myself on the dreaded Amazon, mainly because I can't afford any other method, and trad publishing takes way to long, I could be dead by then...so I'm working away trying to get them ready and out into the world.

I love to write, I love to research, I love to create, being a writer, and author allows me to do all three in one go. I create my own covers, I do my own adds, and one day I hope to be able to pay for an editor I have one in mind (waves to Yvette).

So, what inspires YOU???

  1. Hi, Bridgina! I enjoyed reading your post and about you. You have an interesting background! I'd love to see County Clare sometime. I recently discovered that I have DNA that's almost 50% Irish. It was such a shock, because I thought I was almost a pure Scott. My Irish ancestors hail from the northeastern part of Ireland, very close to the Scottish Islands.

So many things can inspire a writer. It's not a simple question to answer. I also love to write, research, and create. I hope to publish something more than a few short stories. We shall see. I'm wishing you lots of success with your writing!

  2. Someone actually want to read my work? Nonsense, I don't believe it. Anyone who reads my stuff does it entirely out of obligation. Or maybe head trauma, I don't know.

  3. I also love the idea of people reading and enjoying my work. It's such a motivator. I was always that kid (and now that adult) with my nose in a book, so I understand how entertaining a story can be. I want to provide that gift to someone else.
