Belated July Insecure Writers Post...

I apologise, once again I am behind on the posts, I swear I meant it to be on time...but missed it again. *le sigh* So what is this all about...

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time - and return comments. This group is all about connecting!

Remember, the question is optional!

July 5 question - 99% of my story ideas come from dreams. Where do yours predominantly come from?

Personally my ideas come from everywhere around me, TV, music, the news, graphic novels, books, magazines, movies, people...I just get these...'What if' moments that end up getting written up as an idea, to maybe get fleshed out better in the future if I require a story for some reason. The world as they say is my idea oyster. The only problem I have is transferring that fantastic idea to actual words lol.

Again, sorry about the delay.

  1. My ideas usually start with a What If also, and they can pop up so randomly (and usually when I don't have my phone/pen and paper handy to jot them down.

  2. Mine too. Latest work, the idea arrived on the top deck of a bus. . and I thought, why not, couldn't wait to get home.

  3. Life gets away from us. I understand falling behind.

Like you, I feel like the ideas come too fast to keep up with them sometimes.
