IWSG May 5 question - Has any of your readers ever responded to your writing in a way that you didn't expect? If so, did it surprise you?

I've just signed up for this, and am going to write a very short post, the answer to the question is nope, I actually fear that a lot of times, no one knows my writing or novel exists. I have one review on the e-book and that is it.

  1. And that's what worries me too, TWW. I don't think any readers know I exist either. We need to keep trying and join writers groups and blog groups to get connected. Here's hoping...for the both of us! All best to you!

    1. Hi there Victoria Marie Lees, thank you so much for commenting on my short but sweet post. The book has been up for a bit, with only the one review, and because I felt so bad about only getting the one, I now respond to all the books that I read on my Kindle, or buy from the site.
I thought that by joining the list, that it would help, so yes, here's to the both of us, and some more reviews eh! The best to you as well.

  2. How have you tried promoting your book? I planned blog tours and sent review copies when mine were released, but you can do that no matter how long it's been out. My problem is keeping the promotion up, after the initial few reviews it tends to peter out. Welcome to the IWSG. You're sure to find much more excellent advice (better than mine) here!

  5. Echoing the other comments here, the only way to get responses is to put your writing in front of other people. But hey - you already did the hard part. You have works ready to be sent into the wild. That's farther than the majority of us writers get.
