Bad Bridget's

Hi everyone, I'm sharing this link with you all as I was at the 18th annual Dromineer Nenagh Literary Festival in the Nenagh Arts Centre on Saturday the 2nd of October. I'd seen the talks advertised online and thought that would be awesome to attend, and I was right.

I was able to get a ticket online, it cost a tenner, but was well worth it. We'd to wear masks, and bring ID and our Covid pass as well. We used the sanitizer at the door, and the center has a lift to the second floor for those like me who are disabled.

I chose to sit at the far end of the room, a bad choice as it turned out, because even though I could see the full stage, there were two large sponsor signs in my way, by the time I realized that I couldn't see the end of the stage, it was too late, the other side of the rooms bottom seats were all taken up. So, I sat and listened to the talk, even if I couldn't see the speakers until they did the Q&A.

The talk focused on those women who'd been arrested, and I was interested in those who ended up in an asylum, which I wanted to ask about, but didn't get the chance. I really enjoyed the talk, and took loads of notes, for what reason I have no idea (I'll put it down to being an ex-uni student).

I highly recommend clicking on the picture and going to the podcasts, they are awesome. Also, Derry Girls actress who plays the nun, Sibhonn McSweeny does some storytelling in them as well.
