T is for...

Track, as in Keeping Track of everything...

When you create a character, it is very wise (as well you know), to update your files when you make any changes or update something that they do in the story that might be worth keeping track of. In order to do that you may need to download one of the profiles that I left links to in The Road to Being a Published Writer: P is for.... post.

As discussed in that post you can either keep a paper copy of these profiles filled in by pen or pencil, and kept in a cardboard folder, or in a file on your computer, saved to the computer and then saved again to a memory stick.
Either way you should be able to keep track of all the updates and changes that you made to your character. Also don't forget to keep a copy of your working draft on your computer, or memory stick. When going through your novel / story you can print it off chapter by chapter in order to see what you are doing. Some authors prefer this method over reading them on the computer.
