E is for...

Editing, what is it, and who does it?
There are, according to the internet, four types of editing that is done when you are a creative writer, or genre writer, they are...

*Developmental Editing
*Line Editing
*Copyediting
*Proofreading

Editing is the process by which your written material is made ready for publication. This is done usually by fixing errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation (problems that I have); making the content more readable; organizing it so that it flows in a logical order.

While it is possible to edit your own work, a professional can do things to your written material that you could only dream off. Though they don't come cheap, it is recommended that you save up for a qualified person to do the job for you, especially if you are trying to get yourself traditionally published.

If you can find one that you can work with, who you are in synch with, it's well worth while hanging onto them. Treat them well, and you will both have a long and lucrative partnership ahead.

Three websites today, to have a read through for further information on editing, they are as always well worth reading and taking notes from, they go more into detail about each of the above edits.

Editions:

The beauty of being self published is the ability to create various editions of your book, as you need to, now a word of warning, don't do it willy nilly, only create separate editions if absolutely necessary, errors in grammar, or blocking up a major plot hole that you'd missed but readers hadn't.

Make a note of any changes in your novel that you have created in your novel copyright.
